Meet the Counselor

About Mrs. Zeoli

Hello and thank you for taking the time to view my page! I am the School Counselor at Nicely Elementary School and I feel so fortunate to be here working with your children. I graduated from University of South Florida with a Bachelors Degree in Communications in 2006. I then went on to receive a Masters Degree in Counselor Education from Saint Vincent College in 2015. I am so very passionate about this field and absolutely love coming to school each and every day. I intend to reach all students through classroom lessons, small groups, and on an individual basis. It is my belief that it is the counseling department’s responsibility to remove any and all barriers to help each student excel in school as well as in the ever-changing world around us. While it is my duty to act as the main liaison between school, the community, and home, I am always looking for new ideas in hopes to create the perfect bridge for families. If you have specific ideas for lessons or small groups that you would like for me to focus on or address individually with your child, please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email at heather.zeoli@gslions.net or by phone at 724-832-2861.

Personally, I live with my husband, two daughters, malti-poo, and goldendoodle in the Greensburg area. We are all Golden Lions! I feel both honored and privileged to have been chosen to work with your students and I am overjoyed to be here. I’m looking forward to helping each of your children reach their academic, career, and personal/social goals.

My personal philosophy indicates that school counseling is an integral part of the educational process for all students. As a counselor it is of utmost importance to provide a comprehensive, developmental counseling program implemented to serve students from various backgrounds in the areas of academic, career, and personal/social development. As a proactive student advocate, we must recognize the uniqueness, dignity, and personal worth of each individual while collaborating with students, parents, educators, and community members to support each individual student. It is my responsibility to find and develop plans to remove any/all barriers in preparation for student success in our ever-changing society.

Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.
-William Butler Yeats

1. It is my responsibility to provide a friendly, accommodating learning environment for each and every student.

2. Counseling services should help students understand that the uniqueness of each individual is necessary for effectiveness in our ever-changing society.

3. All students should show yearly academic growth.

4. Counseling services should help students set, maintain, and reach personal, academic, emotional, and professional goals.

5. The school, parents, and community should maintain equal collaboration in molding our students to be outstanding citizens of society.

6. The well-being of our students is my greatest priority and I will do anything in my power to maintain a safe, positive atmosphere at all times.

"There is in every child at every stage a new miracle of vigorous unfolding."
-Erik Erikson
